Celebrating World Day for Safety and Health at Work: Sri City's Commitment to Excellence
At West, safety is more than just a priority - it’s a core part of how we work together to protect and support one another. As we mark the World Day for Safety and Health at Work, we are proud to shine the spotlight on our Sri City team, whose commitment to creating a safe and healthy workplace has earned them well-deserved recognition.

In a remarkable achievement, the Sri City team was recently honored with the Diamond Award, the highest recognition in the category of “Organizations Implementing Best Safety Practices,” at the prestigious S2S Annual Conference and Awards. This award is a powerful endorsement of the team's dedication to safety excellence, highlighted by an outstanding milestone of over 3,400 days without a recordable incident.
What makes the Sri City team stand out is the deeply embedded positive safety culture, with safety leadership qualities demonstrated by team members at all levels. The team continuously drives improvement through kaizens and safety projects aimed at mitigating risks on the production line, addressing ergonomic concerns, etc. Their proactive approach to safety ensures that every improvement is a step toward a safer and better workplace.
Team member involvement lies at the heart of Sri City's safety success. For example, the annual Safety Week campaign regularly has over 80% participation rate from team members, with a clear topic each year and a series of activities including training, discussion and celebration. This strong engagement not only builds awareness but also fosters a shared sense of ownership and responsibility for each other’s well-being.
“Our aim is to make safety a daily habit,” said by Suresh Govindarajan, Director, Operations, Sri City, “By following best practices, staying vigilant, and looking out for one another, we are working together for a safe and thriving environment for all.”
As we celebrate World Day for Safety and Health at Work, we commend the Sri City team for setting an exceptional example of what can be achieved when safety becomes a shared responsibility. Their success serves as an inspiration, demonstrating that with dedication, collaboration, and a strong safety culture, achieving zero incidents is possible.
