Where science and technology are evolving quickly, a good networking structure is needed to keep pace of advancements. This is especially relevant for regulatory agencies in the pharmaceutical field. EMA recognizes this and addresses it with the strategic plan: <em>Regulatory Science to 2025</em> – focused on quality, safety and efficacy of both human and veterinary medicines. The draft of this plan, which was created by the Member States and the European Commission, and comprised input from two workshops with stakeholders, was published in December 2018 for a six-month public consultation.
As regulations increase across the pharmaceutical industry, reliable scientific evidence is needed to support the decisions being made during the drug development process in order to achieve the safe delivery of medicines to patients.
West is pleased to announce that it has commenced discussions with Swissfillon AG, a provider of aseptic fill and finish services to pharmaceutical and biotechnology companies, that are intended to lead to a non-exclusive global collaboration to provide fill-finish capabilities to customers using West’s proprietary SmartDose drug delivery platform for complex molecules. West made the announcement at PharmaPack 2019, the annual conference for pharmaceutical packaging and drug delivery, held February 6-7 in Paris.
In March, West presented the Sri Shankara Cancer Hospital with a donation at the opening of West Digital Technology Center (DTC) in Bengaluru, India. These funds will support patients who need financial assistance and who would otherwise not be able to afford their cancer treatment.
