At our Dublin, Ireland site, 50 of West’s team members hiked 11km through the scenic landscape of Glendalough in Co. Wicklow. This effort was in support of the "Little Butterflies Arch Club" in Blanchardstown, Dublin, a local charity dedicated to offering a safe and welcoming environment for autistic children aged four to eight to develop social skills and form friendships.
Our team member Amanda Kavanagh shared her thoughts on the day, commenting “Participating in this hike was a very fulfilling and rewarding experience. Being able to make a positive difference in these kids’ lives and their parents means a lot to me.”
Noel Delaney, Manager of Global Financial Services, reflected on the experience, “A lesson I learned about life from participating in the hike is that the best exercise for the heart is reaching down and giving others a lift up.”
For over six years, West has partnered with Need Base India, a charitable organization dedicated to improving the lives and opportunities of children in need, enabling them to become responsible citizens. Our shared commitment to supporting children’s growth and education has driven a meaningful collaboration that continues to make a difference in the local community around the Bangalore Global Technology Center location.
Recently, through this partnership, we have launched two new programs to enhance educational resources for local underprivileged schools. Through these initiatives, we donated one hundred laptops and 148 books and established a computer lab and library creating spaces where students can explore, learn, and dream bigger. By equipping young minds with the tools they need, we hope to open new doors of possibility for their future.
For the past 3 years, São Paulo team members have supported the Rede Cultural Beija Flor, a non-profit organization providing services to children, youth, and their families living in situations of risk and social vulnerability. Located in the city of Diadema, São Paulo, where our manufacturing plant in Brazil is located, the institution uses academic, artistic, cultural, and sports as tools for socio-educational intervention, promoting the social well-being and development of children and youth through strengthening their autonomy, professional development, and citizenship.In 2023, our team members had the opportunity through their West Without Borders* campaign, to experience their fabulous work with a musical performance by the institution's youth in our auditorium. It was a moving experience!
We recently partnered with the Rede Cultural Beija Flor and, with the support of our employees, volunteered to provide guidance and share experiences about the job market and various professional fields through a Mentoring Program for young people in high school.
The institution also has a regular presence at our facilities, selling delicious treats made by students in its 'kitchen school', which is usually a hit with our employees.
For over 15 years West’s Kearney, Nebraska team members have helped support the Make-A-Wish Nebraska charity. Make-A-Wish’s mission is “Together, we create life-changing wishes for children with critical illnesses.” Our Kearney site has participated and helped sponsor various events through the years. From bake sales to potlucks and other fundraising events our team members help raise money for critically ill children and their siblings to receive holiday gifts. Traditionally there are 100-125 families that receive a holiday gift package during the season that our teams help to wrap and present to those families.

With the holidays among us, you’ve helped Make-A-Wish’s Kearney Friends Council members send special holiday gifts to wish kiddos, bringing just a little more magic and cheer to the season!”
September 5th is International Day of Charity. This day is a reminder to give back to the communities in which we live and work and spread awareness on the importance of charities around the globe and the impact they have on our communities. This focus is evident in the West's longstanding tradition of philanthropy, nurtured by its leadership throughout its history.
