We run a number of internal fundraising campaigns, and last year, globally we raised nearly $515,000-- which means our employees raised half a million dollars for charities around the world! We also run volunteer programs. For example, we do an annual Food Drive, Toys for Tots, and often our teams will get together to give back as part of our team meeting.

The idea of establishing a rubber manufacturing company was born during a visit by the purchasing manager of the penicillin factory, Chemie Grunenthal in Stolberg. He asked whether I could produce rubber stoppers for penicillin bottles. I did some research and realized rubber stoppers were needed for lots of different types of medicine and there wasn’t currently a company specializing in this field.
Each year, on November 14, World Diabetes Day (WDD) is recognized around the world. WDD was created in 1991 in response to growing concerns about the escalating health threat posed by diabetes. It is the world’s largest diabetes awareness campaign, reaching a global audience of over 1 billion people in more than 160 countries.
Prefilled syringes, and prefilled syringes with auto-injectors, continue to dominate the landscape. However, there has been an uptick in the evaluation and use of cartridges in on-body injector systems. The growth of these kinds of products reinforces the need for solutions to deliver larger volumes of biologic products to patients in a simplified manner. The trend from intravenous administration to subcutaneous administration helps to facilitate this patient-friendly option.
Selecting the best vial container closure system (CCS) components and capping process for a drug product ensures optimal performance and patient safety. An optimized CCS requires compatible components (rubber stopper, aluminum seal, glass or polymer vial) and proper capping setup. This provides predictable sealing performance, which maintains the container closure integrity (CCI) needed for patient safety and visual acceptance.
Considering the world of commercial transparent polymers, Daikyo Crystal Zenith® cyclic olefin polymer (COP) clearly stands out – having very good resistance to oxygen/water and compatibility with drug product (it comprises only carbon and hydrogen). Other transparent polymers may suffer limitations, in one or more ways. For example, poly(vinylidene chloride) has outstanding resistance to oxygen/water, but lacks compatibility; sterilization can result in release of HCl. For parenteral drug products, polymer-based containment/delivery systems have many advantages compared to glass.
