West Denmark Supports Families with Children Affected by Cancer
Each year in Denmark, approximately 160 children under the age of 14 are diagnosed with cancer. The diagnosis is life changing in many ways for the child and his or her family. Little things that were once taken for granted, like going to the movies or the zoo, may no longer be possible. Often, families are isolated for long periods of time due to a sick child’s weakened immune system.
Families with Children Affected by Cancer helps the many families who need a ray of hope, advice and support during such trying times.
This year West Denmark in Horsens chose to support this organization to help make a difference for children and their families. West colleagues participated in a number of activities to raise money, including:
- A local run on 5th June for employees/spouse/partner/children
- Internal auctions
- Direct donations in collection boxes
A total of $2,370 was raised to support this important organization.
