Syringe Plunger Placement Impact on FluroTec® Plungers

Due to the compression applied on plungers, vent-tube placement methods could cause plungers with fluoropolymer film lamination to fold and form wrinkles. To understand the impact to container closure integrity and plunger functionality of the wrinkles, West conducted a study which showed that the wrinkles were cosmetic defects which affected the elegance of the finished products, but did not impact container closure integrity or functionality of the syringe system.
