West’s Ambassador Interns in Exton assisted the local West Chester Food Cupboard’s move into their new, larger facility. They packed and loaded 80,000 pounds of food at the Food Cupboard’s previous site, and then moved the supplies to the new facility. The West Chester Food Cupboard’s move enables the organization to serve even more clients, and was made possible through the Ambassador Interns’ help.
Throughout the past four years, the West Chester Food Cupboard has expanded its operations from providing 450,000 pounds of food per year to those in need to 950,000 pounds of food per year. At any time, the Food Cupboard maintains a month’s supply of food, which is about 80,000 pounds, in inventory.
The West Chester Food Cupboard, a non-profit organization operated by unpaid volunteers, was founded in 2009. Currently, the Food Cupboard serves more than 600 households every month and provides them with a variety of much needed food and personal care items. As a “client choice cupboard,” the organization gives clients the chance to select exactly the food they want and need in a grocery store format.

From all corners of the globe, our team members banded together to uplift their local communities during our Sixth Annual Global Food Drive. The COVID pandemic has contributed to a severe increase in global food insecurity, due to loss of incomes, disruptions in food supply chains, and other factors resulting from COVID. Our communities are in acute need of our help more than ever.
Held this past February, West’s fourth annual Global Food Drive was another incredible success with locations around the globe joining together to support the communities where we live and work.
Working at West means being part of a culture of giving and working by the side of the communities where we operate. Our team members are passionate about making a difference and donate considerable time and resources through our corporate giving and volunteer programs. West’s giving strategy focuses on three elements: corporate giving through direct charitable gifts made by West Pharmaceutical Services, Inc., scholarships and matching gifts awarded through the Herman O. West Foundation, an independently managed 501(c)(3) entity and our team member-led giving program, West without Borders*.
This past February, our team members around the world came together to help fight hunger in their local communities during our fifth annual global food drive. As the global community navigates the evolving challenges of the COVID-19 situation, having a stable food supply is even more important. We are proud of our team members for their incredible generosity. Their donations are needed now more than ever.
